AN inspired suggestion from Southern Saints assistant coach Kane Fetterplace proved decisive in last week's Holden Cruze Cup State Netball League clash with Boroondara Genesis.
With the Saints eight goals in arrears with 12 minutes left, Fetterplace suggested moving from the team's usual zone defence to a more direct style.
Coupled with the move of Amelia Hills to the centre and Cathy Strachan to wing attack, the Saints stormed home, outscoring the Genesis 14-4 in the last quarter to win 45-43.
Coach Matt Hills was generous in his praise of Fetterplace. "It was his move and I give him credit for it. We got a couple of turnovers and the momentum went with us. It was a great win against good opposition."
